GSR Foundation Enters Partnership with LMAX and The Considered Ask to Add Cryptocurrency Education to Money Ready’s Programmes

LONDON, September 30, 2026 – GSR Foundation this week announced a formal funding partnership with LMAX Group (“LMAX”) and The Considered Ask to support Money Ready to develop its existing financial education programmes to include content on cryptocurrency and digital assets. The donations will be made in cryptocurrency via LMAX. GSR and LMAX will also contribute their own expertise to help shape the content of the new education programmes. The partnership intends to start within Money Ready's existing programmes before scaling both nationally and internationally.

The partnership follows research commissioned by GSR Foundation to understand what young people want to know about crypto. The research was delivered by the London Foundation for Banking & Finance (LFBF), drawing on LFBF's Young Person's Money Index and qualitative focus groups that are supported by London Youth. The research found that while a significant minority of young people are already engaging with crypto, many are not being fully supported to do so safely or with confidence. It also pointed to a gap between the questions young people are asking about blockchain and the ability of financial educators to answer them.

“The research shows that young people are not receiving enough information to fully engage with the crypto asset class,” said James Newell, Executive Director of the GSR Foundation. “Our partnerships with LMAX and The Considered Ask combine industry expertise with charities and government involvement to drive further engagement from young people and ensure that crypto education does not become an afterthought.”

To respond to these findings, GSR Foundation worked with Lord Holmes of Richmond MBE to convene a roundtable, bringing together representatives from the crypto industry, the charity sector, and government. The roundtable agreed a plan to turn the research's recommendations into action.
